DOD have been renowned for their top-quality analogue effects pedals for the last fifty years, boasting products that were designed by musicians, for musicians. Since Cortek’s acquisition of the brand in 2022 (along with sister brand Digitech) DOD pedals are being relaunched and returned to their former glory for 2023.
Founded in Utah and named after co-founder, David O. DiFrancesco, DOD launched their first products in the middle of a golden era for guitar effects pedals. Designed by musicians, for musicians, and built tough to withstand gigging night after night, it wasn’t long before some of the biggest names in electric guitar were using models like the DOD 250 Overdrive Preamp and the DOD 201 Phasor, earning DOD the Moniker “America’s Pedals.”
In 2022 Korean guitar manufacturers Cortek acquired the DOD and Digitech brands, with DOD pedals being relaunched in 2023 and restored to their former glory as industry icons in analogue effects pedals.
